How to submit
Submission is handled through the "JAMS submission system". Authors can sign in using their "ORCID iD" or register for a JAMS account to submit and manage their manuscripts. There is no need to create a separate journal-specific account or password.
Step 1
Get an ORCID iD. If you don't already have one, register free at orcid.org - it takes about two minutes.
Step 2
Sign in to the submission portal with your ORCID iD. This pulls in your name and affiliation automatically and links your ORCID record to the DOI your article will eventually receive.
Step 3
Prepare your files according to the author guidelines, and work through the submission checklist (data availability, conflicts of interest, ethics approval where relevant).
Step 4
Add ORCID iDs for every co-author where available, so each contributor is correctly credited on the published record.
Step 5
Confirm your APC category. The portal estimates General, Middle-income, or Low-income pricing from the corresponding author's institutional country (see Article processing charges).
Step 6
Agree to the CC BY 4.0 publishing license and confirm the work is original and not under consideration elsewhere.
Step 7
Submit and track progress in the submission portal — decisions, reviewer reports, and revision requests all arrive there.
Submission itself is free. The article processing charge is only invoiced after a paper is accepted - never before or during review — so it has no bearing on the editorial decision.
